This season, we want Record readers who are fans (or at least viewers) of the Bravo reality series to let us know what you think was most striking (good or bad) about each episode. Each week, I’ll mention a few things that struck me, but I’d love to know what everyone else out there thought.

OK, here are my impressions:

I’m beginning to get why Andy Cohen finds Milania Giudice so amusing. I used to just find her bratty. But now, she seems more genuine than most of the other folks in her Montville McMansion. I absolutely loved her line about her maternal grandfather, who was about to have a Pacemaker put in: “He’s a nice little man. I like Nono.” When Teresa explains that he’s having the surgery, because “God forbid his heart stops beating…” Milania says, “He dies.” They’re all so upset that she even mentioned that possibility. Again, we see that..Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.

The Gorgas’ attempts to sell their Montville home was another eye-opener. At the time of the filming, it had been on the market for six months. And despite the fact that their real estate agent tells them, “If you look in Montville, there are only three houses over $3 million,” they want to get $3.8 million. Joe Gorga says a few years ago, the house would have sold for $6 million. Then another agent, Jennifer Dalton, brings someone to see it, and they are appalled at what they find in one of the bathrooms. There’s a crack in the ceiling and the countertop is faux marble, a piece of which breaks off when they touch it. “It’s phony. What else in the house is phony,” says Dalton, who later bluntly tells the Gorgas, “For $3.8 million, you better have a pool.”

Teresa and Caroline Manzo’s sitdown at the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern seemed pretty forced. Caroline did, however, make some good comments and points. When Caroline told Teresa that her brother had been confiding in her and Teresa snapped, “He is really scraping the bottom of the barrel,” Caroline calmly shot back, “Thank you.” But the best was when Kim D. came up and Caroline asked, “Why would you ever call her a friend?” Touche. And Caroline rightly made this point about Teresa’s ailing father: “You don’t want that man to die and not see his children together.”

I’d rather not comment about Jacqueline’s family scenes involving her autistic son Nicholas, because, honestly, I’m ambivalent about them.

The Wakiles continue to be annoying, though I’m at least glad that Kathy finally seems to be growing impatient with her husband’s inappropriate comments and childish behavior. “We all have flaws in our personalities, but it’s starting to take a toll on me,” she says. The one interesting thing was to see that Victoria Wakile goes to Caldwell College and is apparently in the nursing program there. Victoria could not have been thrilled to have her parents visiting her on campus — with cameras in tow — nor to hear her father look at an obviously fake-looking practice dummy and say, “He’s not a cadaver, is he?” Wish someone had said, no, he’s a dummy — and he’s not the only one in the room right now.”

OK, now you tell us what you thought of the episode. Please email: features@northjersey.com
